Inside the US Platform Engineering Market
Platform engineering is where reliability, cost and developer velocity are decided, and it has become one of the most contested areas of US hiring. Twenty-five roles are benchmarked here across platform, infrastructure, DevOps, site reliability and MLOps, through to VP level.
Demand has shifted towards engineers who can run systems at scale and keep the bill under control. Compute cost has become a board-level line item, and the people who can bring it down without slowing delivery are being paid for it.
