WebMethods System Administrator / Configuration Engineer

 

€540 per day | Remote across Europe | Initial 6–12 Month Contract

Are you an experienced webMethods specialist looking for your next contract? This is an opportunity to take ownership of enterprise integration platforms, support critical manufacturing data flows, and drive efficient, secure and scalable file-transfer solutions across multiple sites.

We’re looking for a skilled WebMethods System Administrator / Configuration Engineer to manage platform configuration, system administration, security, performance and production support. You’ll play a key role in ensuring reliable plant-to-SAP file transfers while improving delivery through standardisation, automation and streamlined deployment processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure and administer webMethods Integration Server, API Gateway and Trading Networks.

  • Manage development, QA, UAT and production environments.

  • Maintain platform security, authentication, access controls, certificates and vulnerability remediation.

  • Apply patches, upgrades and configuration changes, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot incidents and optimise platform reliability.

  • Support high availability, clustering, disaster recovery, backups and recovery testing.

  • Manage deployments, releases, rollbacks and environment migrations.

  • Provide L2/L3 production support, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and compliance records.

  • Leverage scripting and automation to improve repetitive interface configuration and file-transfer validation.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience administering webMethods Integration Server and API Gateway.

  • Experience with Trading Networks configuration and package management.

  • Solid Windows/Linux administration, networking, DNS, firewalls and load balancing knowledge.

  • Strong understanding of Java/JVM configuration, memory management and performance troubleshooting.

  • Experience with TLS/SSL certificates, keystores, truststores and authentication mechanisms.

  • Knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS, REST/SOAP, SFTP, JDBC and messaging integrations.

  • Experience supporting SAP and external application connectivity.

  • Familiarity with monitoring, incident management, release management, backup/recovery and disaster recovery.

  • Scripting and deployment automation experience.
