Background
Came in through BD outreach. The previous data contact has left, and the client contact invited a conversation about suitable candidates. The IT hiring manager and reporting line are still TBC.
Role Summary
Technical lead for DWH engineering and architecture, and technical sparring partner to the team lead. Owns the Data Vault 2.0 core architecture, modelling and development standards, and code and architecture reviews. Develops ADF and SQL ETL/ELT, CI/CD and test automation. Will help shape the modernisation path towards Databricks or Snowflake, with AI and advanced analytics to follow. Works with product owners, business units and the BI/reporting teams.
Must Have
- Senior DWH Engineer or Architect experience
- Deep Data Vault 2.0 knowledge, with clean historisation
- Dimensional modelling for reporting layers
- Strong Azure: Data Factory, SQL Database, Storage, Azure DevOps
- Very strong SQL and production ETL/ELT experience
- Track record of setting engineering standards and running reviews
- Very good German

- Interest in AI and advanced analytics platforms
