We’re working with an established financial technology business looking for a Principal Developer to join its technical team. This is a hands-on leadership role combining software expertise, financial systems knowledge and people management.
The RoleYou’ll play a key role in delivering and implementing financial software solutions while supporting and developing a team of developers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, supporting and managing a team of developers
- Providing technical guidance, mentoring and support
- Acting as a technical lead across projects and overseeing build activity
- Reviewing and signing off solution designs
- Implementing and testing financial software solutions
- Leading peer reviews and driving development best practice
- Managing defect triage through acceptance testing
- Acting as a technical escalation point for project and software issues
- Ensuring delivery remains within agreed scope, timescales and budgets
- Managing changes through the appropriate change control process
- Supporting team members with objectives, development plans and career development
Essential experience:
- Strong reconciliation experience
- Experience as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
- Strong commercial software experience
- People management / line management experience
- Financial services, FinTech or financial software experience
- MS SQL
- Data querying and manipulation
- SQL performance tuning
- SSRS / Power BI
- Experience with low-code configuration tools
