We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Ping Identity Engineer & IAM Operations SME to join our Information Security team and play a pivotal role in securing, scaling, and evolving our enterprise identity ecosystem.
This is an opportunity to become the technical authority for our Ping Identity platform, driving the architecture, engineering, operations, and continuous improvement of critical authentication and federation services that enable secure access across our global technology landscape.
You will work at the forefront of Identity and Access Management, helping shape a Zero Trust security model while ensuring our identity services remain resilient, secure, highly available, and aligned with the evolving needs of the business.
About the Role As our Ping Identity Subject Matter Expert, you will provide technical leadership across the full lifecycle of our identity platform, including architecture, implementation, integration, operational excellence, automation, and governance.
You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and security of our Ping Identity environment while partnering with Security Architecture, Infrastructure, Cloud, Application Development, and Risk teams to deliver modern, scalable authentication solutions.
This role combines strategic influence with hands-on technical ownership and offers the opportunity to shape the future direction of enterprise identity security.
Key Responsibilities Identity Engineering & Architecture
- Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for PingFederate, PingID MFA, and Ping Directory.
- Design and deliver secure authentication, federation, and Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Lead complex integrations, platform enhancements, migrations, and modernisation initiatives.
- Establish and maintain secure architectural standards aligned with Zero Trust and enterprise security frameworks.
- Drive platform scalability, resilience, and performance through best-practice design and engineering.
- Own the health, availability, performance, and operational maturity of the Ping Identity platform.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for authentication, federation, and identity-related incidents.
- Lead major incident resolution and serve as the senior escalation point for critical issues.
- Develop and enhance monitoring, observability, automation, and operational support capabilities.
- Ensure robust operational processes, documentation, and service governance practices are maintained.
- Support regulatory, audit, and security requirements across a complex enterprise environment.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, resilience, efficiency, and user experience.
- Partner with security and risk stakeholders to strengthen identity controls and reduce organisational risk.
- Contribute to strategic IAM roadmaps and long-term platform evolution.
- Mentor engineers and support teams, fostering technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
- Build strong relationships across technology and business functions.
- Communicate complex identity and security concepts to both technical and executive audiences.
- Act as a trusted advisor on identity architecture, federation technologies, and authentication strategy.
- 7 years of experience in Identity & Access Management within large-scale enterprise environments.

- SAML 2.0

- OpenID Connect (OIDC)
- Federation and Single Sign-On technologies

- Experience supporting highly available, business-critical identity services.
- Strong understanding of Active Directory, LDAP, Microsoft Entra ID, and modern cloud identity architectures.
- Experience automating operational processes and integrating IAM platforms with enterprise applications.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ping Identity certifications.
- CISSP, CISM, CCSP, ITIL, or related industry certifications.
- Experience with PingOne, PingAccess, SailPoint, CyberArk, or adjacent IAM technologies.
- Knowledge of cloud identity security across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Familiarity with Identity Threat Detection & Response (ITDR), Zero Trust, and modern identity governance practices.
