IT Transformation – Capability & Workforce Planning Lead

Hybrid | Reading or Glasgow (50% office-based)
Initial 6-month contract
£700–£850 per day (Inside IR35) 

I’m currently recruiting for an experienced IT Transformation – Capability & Workforce Planning Lead to join a major transformation programme. This is a senior role focused on shaping the future capability, structure and ways of working across a large IT organisation of around 950 people. You’ll play a key role in defining the skills, roles and workforce strategy needed to support the organisation’s future IT vision.

Key areas of focus include:

• Designing and implementing enterprise-wide IT job families aligned to SFIA
• Creating career pathways and role frameworks across IT
• Leading capability assessments to identify current and future skills gaps
• Developing strategic workforce plans and capability improvement initiatives
• Supporting operating model and organisation design changes
• Working closely with senior IT leaders, HR and Learning & Development teams
• Driving engagement and adoption of new ways of working

We’re looking for someone with:

Strong experience in IT transformation, workforce planning or capability development
Proven experience assessing organisational capability and translating insights into action
Experience working with senior stakeholders and influencing at leadership level
Knowledge of skills frameworks, career architecture and operating models
Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills
