I am partnered with an AI startup backed by a significant fresh funding round looking to hire a full stack engineer to join a small, senior engineering team in London.
You’ll be working on production systems that build sophisticated workflow automations for an existing client base of leading names in the financial services sector. This is a hands on full stack role where you’ll work across frontend and backend systems, with enough backend depth to design and own APIs, services, and data flows, while also contributing to the frontend where needed.
What you’ll do
- Design and build backend services and APIs in Python, typically using FastAPI or similar frameworks
- Build and maintain frontend features using React and Next.js
- Own data models, background workers, async processing, and system behaviour
- Work with relational databases, caching layers, and task queues
- Support CI CD, deployments, and cloud infrastructure in a practical, hands on way
- Collaborate closely with other engineers to ship production features quickly and safely
How the stack looks in practice
- Python for backend services and APIs
- FastAPI or similar modern Python frameworks
- React with Next.js on the frontend
- Relational databases with Redis for caching and background jobs
- Async processing and worker based architectures
- Cloud infrastructure on Azure using managed services where appropriate
About you
- Around 5 or more years of professional software engineering experience
- Comfortable working across the stack with strong backend fundamentals
- Experience building and operating production systems
- Solid understanding of APIs, databases, and async processing
- You care about reliability, maintainability, and sensible technical decisions
- You are comfortable owning problems without heavy process or hand holding
Benefits
- Competitive salary with significant equity upside
- Opportunity to join at an early stage following a major funding round
- High ownership and real technical influence
- Direct access to senior technical leadership
- Highly collaborative
- Long term growth opportunities as the engineering team scales
If you are looking for a technically demanding full stack role where your work will have real impact, this is worth a conversation.
