SWET Software Engineer in Test- Hiring ASAP


Start date: ASAP 
Duration: 10 months
Location: 1 week in Galway office, 3 weeks working from home 
Rate: €350 - €400 per day 


 
Description:
  • As a Software Engineer in Test (SDET) you will be applying your strong software development and test automation skills to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve customer-facing software solutions.
  • You will also be enabling your team in adopting test automation frameworks and best practices to ensure we are building the right product the right way.

  • Experience designing and building applications and using test automation frameworks
  • Multi-stack engineer with knowledge in a breadth of technologies and test automation frameworks (Ruby or Java, Cucumber, Javascript/Angular, HTTP, RESTful web services)
  • Extensive experience working with Java and its ecosystem
  • Passionate about Test Driven Development, developing robust software, writing testable and maintainable code; Self-directed, willing to take initiative, pragmatic and results oriented.
  • Has keen attention to detail and wants to solve really hard problems, not just detect them
  • Able to learn large software systems end-to-end quickly
  • Keenly interested in learning new technologies and their adoption
  • Able to work with remote and international team members.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Use your knowledge of testing and testability to influence better software design, promote proper software engineering and bug prevention strategies, testability and security
  • Actively participate in the development process through writing and maintain application features and automated tests including unit tests, component tests, integration tests, functional tests, performance tests, scenario tests and interoperability tests
  • Support the team in designing reliable, portable, accurate and trustworthy tests, and in integrating them into CI/CD pipelines
  • Collaborate with team members on improving team's test coverage, release velocity and production health
  • Enable the team in designing and developing automation harnesses using Ruby or Java w/ Cucumber and SOA Test
  • Participate in application code and test code reviews with rest of the Scrum team
  • Participate in development using Javascript/Angular and Webservices/HTTP.
 
 
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Software engineering or related field
  • 6 to 9 years of experience with designing and building front-end and webservice applications while incorporating test automation frameworks
  • Working experience with:
  • Ruby (or Java)
  • Cucumber
  • JavaScript
  • HTTP; RESTful web services; Jenkins. 
  • Preferred Experience: AngularJS (2 or above); NodeJS; Docker.
  • Genesys Contact Centre Platform.
  • Working experience with test automation frameworks (Cucumber w/ Ruby, SOATest, Selenium).
  • Hands-on experience with creating and using Test Doubles and Virtual Assets 
  • Knowledge of software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Experience in delivering software in the Agile environment.
 
Skills
  • ETL Tester with strong automation skills
  • Deep understanding of ETL testing including source to target reconciliation and transformation logic validation to ensure data integrity
  • Good programming skills in Java, Python or any object-oriented language with ability to build custom test automation frameworks as needed (we will likely be using Cucumber, so that would be good to have)
  • Experience with Oracle and Snowflake databases including advanced SQL skills for data validations
