🚀 Staff Platform Engineer – State-of-the-Art Asset Management Technology 📍 Dallas, TX (3 days a week on-site)

I’m working with a leading asset management firm that is investing heavily in next-generation trading and investment technology, and they’re seeking an experienced Staff Platform Engineer to join their high-performing engineering team.

This is a hands-on staff-level role where you’ll influence strategy, design, and operations across multi-cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and developer enablement platforms. The Role
  • Multi-cloud ownership: Lead design and operations across AWS, Azure, and on-prem with Kubernetes at scale.
  • Distributed compute systems: Architect large-scale parallel workloads with efficient job scheduling and autoscaling.
  • CI/CD & developer enablement: Build resilient pipelines, automate developer workspaces, and drive DevSecOps culture.
  • Zero-trust networking: Implement secure connectivity with Tailscale, identity federation, and RBAC.
  • Observability & optimization: Ensure resilience, cost efficiency, and performance with Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Strategic influence: Partner with engineering teams to shape cloud-native architecture and adopt emerging technologies.
Tech Environment
  • Cloud: AWS (EKS, EC2, IAM, SSM), Azure (AKS, AD, ARM)
  • Kubernetes: Helm, Operators, CRDs, HPA, Network Policies, k0s
  • Automation: Terraform, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Docker
  • Networking & Security: Tailscale, WireGuard, Vault, OIDC, RBAC
  • Observability: Prometheus, Grafana
  • Distributed Systems: Argo Workflows, Airflow, Dask/Spark (nice to have)
What They’re Looking For
  • 6 years’ experience running production-grade cloud infrastructure
  • Deep knowledge of Kubernetes internals, operators, and distributed workloads
  • Strong track record in multi-cloud (AWS & Azure) environments
  • Advanced Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD experience
  • Proven expertise in secure networking, authentication, and identity management
💡 Nice-to-have: Experience with Tailscale, AKS, lightweight Kubernetes distributions (k0s), or optimized container build pipelines.
