Founding Engineer
Build Something That Matters

£100–130k upwards plus equity (~1%)

You’ve done the 0 to 1 thing. You’ve built products from scratch, worn five hats at once, and made tough calls with limited data. You want your next move to count, not just for your career, but for the planet.
This one’s for you.

A stealth-mode climate tech startup is building a new category of AI-powered environmental intelligence. They're turning cutting-edge science into real-time insights for global industries, helping operators, investors, and infrastructure owners manage complex risks with confidence.
The core technology is already delivering high-resolution forecasts to early customers. Now they’re turning that into a commercial platform, and you’ll be the one to build it.

They’ve got:
🧠 A scientific braintrust (including a globally cited science expert)
🌎 Real-world traction across sectors like supply chains, agri, and data centres
🧩 Complex, meaty problems to solve using deep-learning and planetary-scale data

Now they need you as their first software engineer.

You’ll be:
  • Turning scientific models into a usable, commercial product
  • Setting up the technical toolkit
  • Designing and architecting the product from scratch
  • Building APIs, setting up infra, and shaping the full-stack
  • Working hands-on with the CEO and Chief Scientist
  • Defining the early engineering culture and best practices
You should have:
  • 7 years of experience (Python-focused, ideally backend-leaning)
  • FE experience
  • Proven ability to build 0 to 1 products, especially in early-stage startups
  • Experience with huge datasets and/or geospatial data
  • A product mindset, you care how things work and feel
  • Bonus: time-series data, cloud infra, or climate/ML exposure
Low ego is non-negotiable. So is giving a damn about the mission

💸 Salary upwards of £100k, they want to hire the very best person for the job
📍 3 days/week in London (flexible)
