I'm currently supporting a leading technology consulting firm on a high-impact regulatory programme with a Tier 1 financial services client. This is an exciting opportunity for a Cloud-savvy Technical Engineer or Data Scientist to contribute to a business-critical “Verification of Payee” project that must be delivered by September 2025 in line with European Payments Council requirements.
We’re looking for someone with hands-on engineering expertise and a pragmatic mindset to support both the build of a greenfield API-based verification service and provide wider technical guidance within the team.
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Solid hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Strong skills in Terraform
  • Proficient in Python; SQL is a plus
  • Comfortable working across both engineering and regulatory contexts (e.g., data protection, documentation, IT compliance)
  • Familiar with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
  • Exposure to agile delivery / Scrum methodologies
The Role:
  • Design and support development of a GCP-hosted, API-driven verification service
  • Collaborate closely with experienced developers and product experts
  • Support broader team initiatives as a technical business expert — including documentation, regulatory integrity of IT operations, and stakeholder presentations
  • Engage in tasks that straddle business and technical domains, including customer data systems
