Backend Architect | Python | AI start-up | Germany (remote, onsite 1 x quarterly)
I'm partnered with an AI start-up backed by fresh funding looking for a Backend Python Architect.
The team is senior, engineering-led, and drawn from top-tier tech environments, with experienced leadership and real technical ambition.
You are a backend architect or very senior Python engineer who enjoys starting with a clean slate. You’ll define backend architecture, APIs, and data models, designing systems that are scalable, secure, and built for low-latency, data-intensive workloads. You’ll work closely with infrastructure on Kubernetes-based orchestration and collaborate daily with frontend and UI UX to deliver a cohesive end-to-end platform.
You have strong Python experience in production systems and a deep understanding of distributed systems, modern backend frameworks, and architectural trade-offs. You care about security, observability, and resilience, and you’re comfortable guiding technical decisions across teams.
Added bonus if you have experience in Kafka or RabbitMQ, WebSockets or server-sent events, Prometheus or ClickHouse, and databases such as PostgreSQL, Redis, or MongoDB.
