Job Description

As a Senior C++ Engineer, you will join their backend team and report directly to the CEO. This role offers significant opportunities for career progression, including leadership roles and taking on additional responsibilities as the company grows. They are looking for someone with strong database experience who would enjoy developing and optimising databases to handle large volumes of data!

Key Tech Requirements:

• Experience in developing network code in C/C++ (sockets, asynchronous communication, understanding the differences between TCP and UDP).
• Strong understanding of distributed computing challenges.
• Familiarity with consensus protocols, such as Raft and possibly Paxos.
• Understanding of the CAP theorem and ability to model and debug complex systems.
• Knowledge of database storage formats, including data and index storage, cluster indexes, page-based formats, page cache operations, columnar data storage, encoding, and compression.
• Understanding of database storage reliabilityand recoverability.
