Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mainframe Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mainframe technologies and a proven track record of maintaining and optimizing mainframe systems. As a Mainframe Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our mainframe infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain mainframe systems and applications.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of mainframe environments.
  • Perform system administration tasks on AIX and AS400 platforms.
  • Develop, test, and maintain COBOL programs.
  • Manage and optimize IBM DB2 databases.
  • Utilize Mainview to monitor and manage mainframe performance.
  • Administer and support Z/OS operating systems.
  • Implement and manage Tivoli for system management and automation.
  • Configure and manage Websphere applications on the mainframe.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mainframe-related issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations and projects.
  • Stay updated with the latest mainframe technologies and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Mainframe Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of AIX, AS400, and Z/OS operating systems.
  • Proficiency in COBOL programming.
  • Experience with IBM DB2 and Mainview.
  • Familiarity with Tivoli for system management.
  • Experience with Websphere application server on mainframe environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in relevant mainframe technologies.
  • Experience with other mainframe tools and technologies.
  • Previous experience in a similar industry or sector.
