Data Engineer - HIRING ASAP

Start date - ASAP
Duration - 12-month contract
Location: Remote
Rate: £400-£500 per day
Engagement: PAYE via Trust in SODA


Role Summary

  • The main function of the Data Engineer is to develop, evaluate, test, and maintain architectures and data solutions within our organization. The typical Data Engineer executes plans, policies, and practices that control, protect, deliver, and enhance the value of the organization's data assets.

Responsibilities

  • Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems.
  • Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices.
  • Design, implement, automate, and maintain large scale enterprise data ETL processes.
  • Build high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models, and proof of concepts
  • Day to day - Work on projects - which have 2 aspects

1. bringing more data to their decision layer so their decision making is better and
2. Improving their analytics capabilities to measure their success from risk perspectives.

  • Working with Xfn's to build the data sets, writing pipelines, data modeling for these tables, building dashboards for visibility to the leadership and tracking.
  • On call - once in 2 months a week on on call - expectations are that they are fully dedicated to this that week and solve issues that arise during this.
  • They work on monthly sprints - create sprints for each member at the end of the month and if it is a month where they will be involved in on call work then only 75% of their work goal will be towards projects and the rest will be for on call.

Key Skills

  • Independent project handling end to end and solid product experience/sense
  • Hands on SQL, writing pipeline
  • Data modelling communication and collaboration
  • 8+ years experience
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as work independently or with minimal direction.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborate with data architects, modelers, and IT team members on project goals.
  • Strong PC skills including knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint.
