Solution Architect

Location: Remote/UK (Travel required to offices across the UK as needed)

Salary: Starting from £70,000 (depending on experience) + 5% bonus

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Solution Architect to join their team and shape their architectural landscape. You'll be part of a team that delivers and improves business solutions, ideally bringing domain expertise in Asset Management, Field Operations, or Logistics. Flexibility in assignments is expected.

Role Overview

As a Solution Architect, you will:

  • Develop and own the architectural roadmap within a specific business domain.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand strategic intent and market trends.
  • Define end-to-end solutions, ensuring they meet architectural principles and guardrails.
  • Be involved in delivery activities and strategic roadmap responsibilities.
  • Evaluate and recommend new market solutions.
  • Lead Proof of Concepts, technology trials, and proof of value activities.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to build cloud-native solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop architectural roadmaps that align with business needs and market trends.
  • Participate in change delivery projects to implement technical changes.
  • Ensure cost transparency and value-focused technical solutions.
  • Share knowledge and drive excellence across business capabilities.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies.
  • Lead and gain approval for innovative technology trials.
  • Collaborate on cloud-native solution development.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining solution roadmaps.
  • Experience in architectural design and delivery oversight throughout the lifecycle.
  • Ability to present to and influence senior operational stakeholders.
  • Experience managing multiple initiatives and prioritizing tasks.
  • Knowledge of architecting in a cloud-native context, ideally within AWS and SaaS environments.
