Job description

Trust In SODA have partnered with the "Best company in the North West" [Glassdoor] as we look to grow their Design team once more with 4 new Designers. Each role is flexible in terms of experience and backgrounds, as we run a relatively flat hierarchy here. Regardless, of whether you have some experience or tonnes of experience you'll be able to work end to end on projects autonomously to solve complex and techy problems. You don't need to be a tech wizard but you'll be working in an innovative and complex software environment, so you'll need to decipher complex info and understand, loosely, how systems talk to each other. As a Product Designer you'll own your own product vertical from end to end and collaborate with the business, developers, data and product in a fast paced agile environment.

Designers are at the forefront of absolutely everything the business do, which means that you will be involved in a mix of the following:

  • Modernization, research and design of future generations of our product.
  • Working alongside the product team to define customer needs through bringing a design influence.
  • Designing simple, elegant, data-driven, user-centric experiences that will delight our customers.
  • Helping to shape the product strategy and vision, bringing your insight and expertise from a design perspective.
  • Extensive and thorough user research with the primary responsibility of bringing forward new findings and learning to influence design decisions.
  • Conducting user testing to validate all design solutions.
  • Producing high quality sketches, wireframes and mock-ups at various degrees of fidelity.
  • Collaborating closely with development teams during the prototyping and building of UI components.
  • Contributing to the wider design systems and practices at PortSwigger.

Things to bring with you:

  • Strong technical background and knowledge - comfortable having highly technical conversations with developers and customers.
  • Full-stack, cross-platform design experience, from discovery to design, through to building and delivering an exceptional product.
  • Previous experience modernizing the design for a desktop application and understanding the challenges and opportunities that go with it.
  • Ability to keep the customer at the heart of everything you do. Validating your ideas with data and customer research to build products that will delight the user.
  • Exposure or experience with working in a cross-functional agile team solving complex user problems and evolving your design in rapid iterations to meet changing requirements.
  • Experience using design tools, ideally figma
  • Experience with moderating user testing and conducting interviews.
  • Experience using user story techniques.
  • A depth of hands-on experience with various UX methods such as empathy mapping or customer journey mapping.
  • Good understanding of interaction design, including common UI patterns.
  • Experience in creating user personas.
  • A healthy understanding of accessibility standards.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and deliver continuous, incremental value to the team.
  • Self-motivate with the ability to adapt quickly, forming outstanding and innovative ideas.
