Job description

A software consultancy that specializes in assisting clients with their digital transformation journeys, encompassing the creation of new digital products and platforms, transitioning from legacy systems, and establishing modern software delivery capabilities is looking for a Principal level Software Engineering Consultant to join their team.

Join the dynamic team as they embark on an exciting growth journey in North America! With a robust global annual revenue surpassing $200 million, their North American operations have thrived since 2019. Currently, they boast a team of 3,000 dedicated consultants, with only 50 stationed in North America and the remainder strategically contributing from business units, primarily in the UK. Despite their impressive history in the North American market, they find themselves at an early growth stage, making this role pivotal in defining and executing their future growth and strategic initiatives. If you're ready to make a significant impact and contribute to their continued success, they invite you to be a key player in shaping their future.

What They Are Looking For Out of a Candidate:

  • 100% Remote candidates based in or near major cities on the Eastern or Central time zones of the U.S.
  • Over 12+ years of software engineering experience
  • Modern programming and development experience in tech stacks such as: Java, Python, Golang, Ruby on Rails or Node.
  • Over 5+ years of consulting experience
  • Over 3+ years of being the go-to-person for interfacing with clients and leading a team
  • Consistent experience in consulting, coding, design and architecture
  • Having had experience in working at a software consulting agency previously
  • Combine strategic and tactical thinking, providing hands-on advice to clients in problem-solving scenarios.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and exert effective influence.
  • Display strong situational awareness and emotional intelligence, adapting seamlessly to different domains and business cultures.
  • Establish quick rapport with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and consultants.
  • Cultivate a professional, friendly, and humble demeanor that fosters client relationships and encourages collaborative teamwork.
  • Adopt a listening-first approach, taking the time to carefully consider opinions and options before advising clients.
  • Demonstrate alignment with the company's technical values, delivery values, and consulting values.
  • Possess a clear understanding and passion for delivering quality outcomes through modern software development practices and methodologies (Agile, Lean, XP, DevOps, etc.).
  • Excel in pre-sales environments, actively contributing to pitches, engaging with potential customers, and building enduring relationships.
