Lead Accountant / Senior Finance Manager

• Location: Berlin - 50% on site Hybrid working (Can be 1 week on 1 week off or 2/3 day split)
• Duration: Initial 3 months + Extensions
• Rate: €80 - €110 per hour
• Full time Freelance contract 8 hours per day 5 days per week
• Languages: German OR English

I'm currently working with an European Smart product e-commerce platform to help them find a Lead Accountant / Senior Finance Manager with strong experience working on German accounting systems.

The role:

• Responsible for accounting in close cooperation with the Head of Finance and the CFO
• Guidance and development of the juniors and managers in the accounting team
• Further development and optimization of finance and accounting processes, for example by optimizing the cost structure and cost accounting
• Preparation and coordination of the annual financial statements (contact person for management and tax consultants for open questions)
• Coordination and implementation of all other financial processes, eg payment runs and invoices, reconciliation of accounts and management of dunning
• Coordination of external service providers (legal, auditors, banks, etc.)
• Creation of reports for management and investors
  

Requirements:

• Completed business studies with a focus on finance (accounting)
• Relevant professional experience in finance and accounting (daily business, project management and preparation of annual financial statements)
• Safe handling of DATEV
• Very good knowledge of MS Office
• High affinity for numbers, very good analytical skills and an independent, structured and result-oriented way of working
• Communication skills and strong teamwork skills
• Experience in start-ups, e-commerce and high-growth companies an advantage
• First management experience an advantage
