Head of Internal Communication
Start: ASAP
Type: Permanent
Location: London 3 Days per Week / Home 2 Days per Week
Salary: £85,000 - £100,000 + 25 days holiday increasing each year + private medical + pension.
Role Summary:
As the Head of Internal Communication for a rapidly growing company in the telecommunications industry, you will lead the development and execution of the internal communication strategy. With a focus on engaging employees across various locations, you will work closely with senior leaders to ensure alignment with the company's mission, purpose, and values.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive internal communication strategy with a focus on two-way communication and engagement.
- Support engagement strategies across all locations through effective use of communication tools.
Leadership:
- Lead, develop, and support the internal communication team.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing counsel on best practices for internal communication.
- Enhance leadership visibility and trust across the organization.
Content:
- Craft compelling storytelling of company and employee news, highlighting human-interest stories and ensuring all voices are heard.
- Lead annual employee communication initiatives, including performance management programs and HR communications.
Channels:
- Continuously develop and optimize communication channels to best meet employee needs, including managing intranet redevelopment projects.
- Lead enterprise social network initiatives to drive organic engagement and user-generated content.
Planning and Measurement:
- Utilize a data-driven approach to inform communication strategies and measure effectiveness.
Events:
- Lead internal events such as company updates and annual kick-off events, and advise on divisional all-hands meetings.
Role Objectives/Success Measures:
- Develop and deliver the internal communication strategy.
- Successfully implement new intranet solutions.
- Enhance localized and personalized communication in various company communities.
- Improve employee engagement scores.
Skill Set:
- Extensive experience in internal communications within a growth environment.
- Familiarity with different employee persona communication styles.
- International experience, preferably in Eastern Europe.
- Ability to curate engaging content across various communication channels.
- Strong project management skills with high attention to detail.
- Experience working directly with CEO offices.
- Proficiency in simplifying complex information through storytelling.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and insights for communication strategy development.
- Willingness to take on additional projects and challenges as needed.
