Rate: £500 per day (Inside IR 35)

Role Description:

We are seeking an experienced Vulnerability Management Tools Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. This 3.5-month opportunity is fully remote, and the successful candidate must hold SC Clearance. In this role, you will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and securing various vulnerability management tools, including AWS Inspector, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Qualys, Rapid 7, Microsoft Defender, and Tenable. Your primary focus will be ensuring that these tools are logically configured, securely deployed, and effectively monitor systems for vulnerabilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deployment & Configuration: Set up and configure AWS Inspector, CloudTrail, and CloudWatch to monitor and assess EC2 instances for vulnerabilities. Ensure that all necessary agents are installed on EC2 instances for evaluation.
  • Assessment Template Creation: Develop and configure assessment templates in AWS Inspector, defining assessment rules packages and durations to ensure vulnerabilities and configurations are thoroughly checked.
  • Assessment Execution: Run test assessments manually or on a scheduled basis to scan EC2 instances for vulnerabilities and security issues.
  • Analysis of Findings: Review detailed reports generated by AWS Inspector, analyzing findings related to discovered vulnerabilities, configuration issues, and security compliance.
  • Remediation & Reporting: Prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities and security issues. Provide clear reports for stakeholders that track the security posture and progress of remediation efforts.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in deploying and configuring vulnerability management tools such as Qualys, AWS Inspector, Rapid 7, Microsoft Defender, and Tenable.
  • Strong familiarity with AWS Inspector, CloudTrail, and CloudWatch and their configuration for vulnerability assessment and monitoring.
  • Ability to define assessment targets, create templates, and run assessments on EC2 instances.
  • Experience in analyzing vulnerability reports and creating actionable remediation plans.
  • Competency in identifying and resolving configuration issues related to vulnerability management tools.

Essential Requirements:

  • Must hold ACTIVE SC Clearance.
  • Demonstrable experience with AWS Inspector, CloudTrail, and CloudWatch configurations and operations.
  • Strong understanding of vulnerability management practices and tools.
