Job Title: Research Finance Administrator
Location: London – Hybrid
9-month contract
Rate: £150 - £180 daily rate/ Inside IR35
Our client is seeking a Research Finance Administrator with extensive Post Award Finance experience to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Post Award team, focusing on project monitoring, compliance, reconciliations, and invoicing. The role also involves financial approval of staff appointments, studentships, tuition fees, and timesheet reconciliation. While full training on internal systems and processes will be provided, prior experience in financial reporting to research funders is essential. Additional administrative tasks may be assigned as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Post Award team with monitoring and compliance of projects.
- Reconciling accounts and raising invoices to funders.
- Financially approving research-related costs, including staff appointments, studentships, and tuition fees.
- Reconciliation of timesheets and financial data.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and databases.
- Liaising with internal and external auditors.
- Carrying out ad hoc administrative duties as required.
Experience & Knowledge Required:
- Demonstrable experience in Post Award administration, including knowledge of funding rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Proven experience in financial reporting and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Prior experience in the costing and financial approval of research staff appointments.
- Experience collaborating with auditors.
- Familiarity with Oracle Grants and Worktribe is desirable but not essential.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Proficient in IT systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other tools.
- Highly numerate with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong data analysis and reconciliation skills.
- Ability to interpret, understand, and present financial data clearly.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to delivering a professional and efficient support service with excellent customer service skills.
