A global leader within the finance industry is on the search for their next Release Engineer. As a release engineer you will be collaborating with (tribe) product owners, (tribe) scrum masters, and ops engineers to streamline the release process.
The Release Engineer's role is of utmost importance as they are responsible for overseeing the consolidated release plan for the upcoming period. This plan is intricately woven into the underlying plans of the squads involved. The Release Engineer not only assesses potential risks and analyses lead times but also identifies and manages dependencies.
The Release Engineer is responsible for orchestrating the release calendar for their specific tribe, aligning it with the business strategy and needs.
Collaborating closely with various squads within their tribe and with fellow Release Engineers across different tribes, the Release Engineer plays a central role in consolidating the outcomes of planning sessions into a comprehensive tribe release plan. They manage inter-squad dependencies, cross-tribe dependencies, evaluate delivery risks, and oversee the utilisation of platforms other than the production environment.
The Release Engineer actively monitors progress, identifies significant discrepancies between planned and actual timelines, and engages in negotiations to explore alternative solutions.
