Freelance Digital Project Manager
Start: ASAP
Length: 6 Months + Extensions
Location: 1 Day in Brussels and 4 Days Remote

We are looking for a Digital Project Manager to strengthen our Digital Sciences team within Pharmaceutical Sciences (PS) Department. PS is turning small molecules into valuable medicines (CMC Development) and we're evolving. Our ambition is to leverage Digital Sciences to transform the way we develop patient solutions by combining innovative technologies, growing our people, and optimizing our processes with trusted data to be more competitive.
Specific professional/technical expertise and key skills required:
Degree, preferably Master, within Business Administration/Engineering/Computer Science
Minimum 5 years relevant experience
Strong project management experience in delivering digital and/or IT projects (agile project management experience is an asset)
Preferably familiar with Pharma (development, research or GxP manufacturing) or similar environment (Chemicals, FMCG, etc.)
Appetite for Industry 4.0 opportunities and Pharma digital solutions for CMC Development (digital operations / smart laboratory, predictive sciences, etc.)
Experience of working in a multi-vendor environment and managing projects through 3rd party vendors
Strong knowledge of IT implementation models and challenges
Financial analysis and evaluation of initiatives (business case)
Strong stakeholder management
Self-driven and proven capabilities in identifying, initiating, and engaging in change activities
Proven leadership capabilities within project execution
Team-player, proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic
Professional attitude towards colleagues and external parties across different cultures and professions
Ability to work independently and define and develop own targets and tasks
Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
English (fluent written and spoken) communication skills
Ability to travel on occasion
Responsibilities
Operational
Lead and manage strategic digital projects (digital operations / smart laboratory, predictive sciences, etc.)
Plan, coordinate and manage digital projects according to best practices
Capture business requirements, identify improvement opportunities and shape initiatives (including defining delivery model and confirming business case)
Perform deliverables tracking and review
Perform project risk management
Perform accurate reporting and good financial stewardship
Perform active and open communication with stakeholders
Provide efficient support to project team and stakeholders
Secure end-to-end project delivery
Deliver efficient change management and communication
Steer internal and external partners
Support Head of Digital Sciences in defining further and monitoring a set of projects (portfolio) aligned with Digital roadmap for Pharmaceutical Sciences and enabling Digital Business Transformation
Improve Digital Sciences project methodology
Contribute to the continuous improvement of good practices for project management
Create reusable assets and templates
Develop agile project management for digital implementation
Quality:
Ensure quality of digital implementations
Assess Pharmaceutical Sciences requirements and select relevant technology options
Contribute to digital solutions design
Secure efficient handover between project and operation teams
Ensure efficient adoption by Pharmaceutical Sciences end-users
Coordinate with IT and ensure implementation according to IT standards
