Design System/ Product Designer

Rate: £475PD - £515PD PAYE (eq. to £550-600PD Umbrella)

Engagement: Inside IR35/PAYE via Trust in Soda

Trust in Soda are partnered with one of the world's biggest and most well-known brands as they are searching for a Designer. This person will build out the Design System for a widely known and used social media app. In this role you will be a key partner in developing and updating production processes, building templates and design tools, managing component libraries and digital assets and developing unimpeachable documentation that allows their design system to scale to many hands.

You will work alongside several product designers, visual designers, design program managers, and producers to develop operational efficiencies in both how work gets created and handed off to engineering to ensure what they ship is pixel perfect and meets all technical specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Organize and maintain a large library of components & files
• Create, revise, and maintain individual component files
• Provide detailed design specs for existing components
• Partner with Product Designers to create detailed behaviour and visual specs
• Update and maintain component documentation
• Explore new variants for existing components
• Update and maintain design system Master Sheets
• Create, organize, and assign tasks (passing design specs to engineers, updating libraries, etc)
• Troubleshoot issues with design files (layer structure/organization)
• Provide Visual Systems Production Design support for illustrations & Icons
• Provide help/guidance in relevant feedback groups
• Conduct extensive design audits (iOS/Android, screenshots/video recordings)
• Manage and organize all servers and files and create templates for the team
• Assist with other tasks

Hard Skills:

• 8+ years' relevant production design or design systems experience
• Experience establishing and evolving design system documentation
• Expert in Figma
• Experience working on toolkit development and stewardship
• Experience working with Visual Systems assets (Illustrations & Icons)
• Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
• Familiar with iOS, Android and WWW design
• Familiar with HTML/CSS/Basic Markup
• Familiar with Github
