Corporate Accountant

Start: ASAP
Contract Length: 4 months
Location: London - 2/3 days onsite per week

IR35: Inside (Umbrella)
Pay: £350 - 400 P/D

The Corporate Accountant works within the Investment Management's UK Corporate Accounting team reporting, and controlling functions for a number of business lines, including both the direct and indirect private real estate. The role has responsibility for accounting for the direct and credit strategies business lines and will report directly to the Senior Director. The successful candidate will be a technically proficient, having the initiative to identify and implement process improvements in the governance and control environments. Excellent communication skills are a prerequisite. Financial services experience and previous experience with a U.S.-based multinational company are strongly preferred.

Job Overview:

  • Processing monthly, quarterly, and annual period end close activities for all direct entities, including journal entries
  • Providing monthly P&L variance analysis and interaction with the Corporate Controller in respect of monthly calls with the Global team
  • Maintaining monthly balance sheet reconciliations ensuring any reconciling items are appropriately resolved and followed up on a timely basis
  • Acting as a key business partner to FP&A for any follow up reviews and coordinating with the SSC
  • Preparation of annual and consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS and FRS 102 for UK
  • Review of SPV and Holdco reporting and financial statements prepared by team of outsourced partners
  • Supporting the team with financial analysis, complex reporting and work on acquisitions and disposals
  • Coordinating with internal and external auditors to provide any supporting information
  • Liaison with external advisors and administrators in respect of tax returns including corporation tax, VAT and transfer pricing etc
  • Liaise with the Chief Accountant and Global Finance Team to resolve any financial accounting activities and questions on a timely basis, providing accounting data input to requests from management etc
  • Support the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly flash reports in line with the centralised reporting strategy
  • Partner with the technology division on system maintenance, implementation, upgrades, automation, and customization to encourage the adoption of technology-based solutions and enhancements
  • Assist with various initiatives to improve efficiency including CBRE Finance Organization's Target Operating Model project, intercompany cleanup and policy enhancements


Essential Skill Set:

  • Qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with significant professional experience
  • Strong technical experience with IFRS, UK GAAP and UK Law and regulations, US GAAP experience preferred
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Self-starter, able to resolve issues with own initiative
  • Experience with People Soft, Hyperion Financial Management and Trintech Cadency is desirable.
