YES! Another exciting event is to be held on the 21st September 2016 at the fantastic ACE Hotel in Shoreditch and will be themed around ‘How not to Suck at DevOps’
Andrew is a Lead DevOps Consultant at Capgemini with a strong test-first engineering background. Proficient in application development and Unix systems architecture, he is comfortable with every tier of a bare metal or virtualised web stack, and has battle-hardened experience delivering high throughput solutions to enterprise clients.
Luke is a a back-end developer moving further down the stack, and nowadays focuses on DevOps and Linux Containers. Most recently Luke worked as a senior consultant at YLD, and previously at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. Luke built an open-source, container-based PaaS called Paz (http://paz.sh) and has delivered talks at CoreOS Fest, Container Camp, Docker London, Node on the Road Lisbon, and various London Node, container and DevOps meetups.
Title: Building and Deploying Microservices Applications with Containers
Abstract: In this talk, Ilya and Luke will show off a sample reference microservices app, a socks shop. We'll look at how it's been developed it and why, and then deploy it to three different platforms, and then use Weave Scope to find out how it works.
Ilya Dmitrichenko (@errordeveloper)
Ilya is a Developer Experience Engineer at Weaveworks, focused on making the adoption of microservices easier. Prior to Weaveworks, Ilya worked at Xively, where he personally experienced the shift to a true DevOps culture. He began to shift focus down the stack, becoming one of the early evangelists of and contributors to open source projects in the emerging Docker/container ecosystem.
Luke Marsden (@lmarsden)
Luke heads up Developer Experience at Weaveworks, where he spends his time thinking about how to optimise for happy open source users. He gets involved in open source projects, develops experimental software, works on content and user journeys, and enjoys speaking at meetups and conferences. He previously founded ClusterHQ.
