We are super excited, flattered and immensely grateful to be included in the shortlist for Best Small Recruitment Agency 2018.

The Key Behind Thriving Fintech

Trust in Soda was founded in August 2013, so being shortlisted in such a short time frame is an absolute honour. We could not have accomplished this milestone achievement without the ongoing, collaborative support of our tight-knit SODA squad who strive, every day,to achieve great things.  With this in mind we decided to speak to some of our team to get their view on being shortlisted for the Recruiter Awards this week.

-       What are the Recruiter Awards 2018?

The Recruiter Awards is the UK’s largest event for the entire recruitment community, recognizing outstanding achievements by agencies and in-house recruiters. Being part of the 2018 event opens opportunities to network with other agencies.  Winning an award will expose us to opportunities with new clients and candidates and will raise our overall reputation within our evolving industry.  I think even being associated with such an award is an achievement in itself. We are still a young business.  We already have a brilliant reputation so, I believe, whatever happens on the night, we are already a winner!”

-       Laura Critchley, Recruitment Consultant

-       How does it feel to be shortlisted?

“Being shortlisted is an absolute honour. We all work so hard and are so dedicated to what we do, to have a nomination come through off the back of it makes it all worth it. SODA is built on talented consultants, each with their own individual strengths, and it is the combination of these that makes us the agency we are today. Additionally, there are several exceptional agencies who have also been nominated that we look up to as market leaders. So, to be considered in the same league has put us all on cloud nine!

We see the success of our agency is down to the people.  For this to be recognised on such a public level, is a true testament to each and every one of our consultants.  We couldn’t be happier to be nominated for ‘Best Small Recruitment Agency 2018’. Wishing everyone the best of luck on the evening and I hope they party the night away in style!”

-       What does being shortlisted mean to us?

We pride ourselves on being unique and doing things differently, while always providing a strong service and it seems we're succeeding. Being shortlisted for the Recruiter Awards means for us that we are being recognised for the work that we do. It’s a huge morale boost to the teams within SODA. We have very high standards, which can sometimes prove challenging to uphold at all times - especially when much of our competition prefers to cut corners. Being shortlisted reinforces the fact that we are right in our approach and gives us the extra boost to maintain these standards.

We have huge plans for growth within SODA, and the honour of being shortlisted promotes us as an organisation and lights a powerful beacon for all to see - to all recruitment consultants (as well as any ambitious individuals who'd like a career in recruitment)- telling them that SODA is a great company to be a part of. Being shortlisted for the Recruiter Awards is an advantage for SODA which can't be bought - only earned.

-       Why we should win ‘Best Small Recruitment Agency 2018’?

“We are extremely dedicated to our profession and to our community. We believe that we our pioneers of a revolution in the digital recruitment world and are making a unique contribution to changing attitudes. We actively give back to the community we serve by sharing news, insights, free podcasts, SODA social events, Women in DevOps events and blog content. We also take pride in supporting charities that mean a lot to our clients, candidates and staff, taking part in multiple charity initiatives. Recently, we have initiated our ‘Big May Fundraiser’ Spring charity campaign, where we are working closely with our chosen three charities ( from March 8th - 31st May) with the aim to raise £10,000 for charity. We are hoping to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s Society, Enham Trust and Meningitis Now with numerous fundraising events, as well as contributing 5% of all invoices in the month of May to the individual client’s charity of choice.

We have worked hard for our achievements, with LinkedIn notably identifying us as one of the ‘Top 25 Most Socially Engaged Staffing Agencies in Europe 2017’. We were not only up against 60,000 Search and Staffing companies but, in particular, market leaders with huge budgets for on-line content and marketing.

Apart from general social engagement, we are committed to supporting women in IT.  In a prominently male-dominant industry, not only are the majority of our team made up of women but we have created our own ‘Women in DevOps’ community to take positive action to tackle diversity issues inside the industry we recruit in. One of our consultants, Lauren Langdell, is a finalist in the category ‘Advocate of the Year 2018’, an outstanding award which acknowledges her innovative ‘Women in DevOps’ events which helps and celebrates women who overcome diversity barriers.

We will continue to look for innovative ways to take our business to new heights of success, to continue to raise the barrier with our unique culture, mindset and offerings to our market and community.”

– Hayley Killengrey, Principal Consultant
